Abstract

Toxic influences of various doses of uranium on different growth parameters in Vigna radiata L. Wilczek during seed germination and early seedling growth were studied.  The root-shoot length, dry weight and chlorophyll Contents showed a decrease even at the lowest (2.5 µg/ml) uranium dose studied. Though germination period was affected,  ultimate germination was always 100% except at the highest uranium (160 µg/ml) concentration.

Keywords: Vigna radiata, uranium, seed germination
