Abstract

In continuation of our studies on carcino-gens and tumor promoters (Upadhyay, 1996),  which are well known health hazard and exacerbate vthe total carcinogenic load of environment (Upadhay, 1980). Tests were performed to study the effect of various chemicals and synthetic compounds including dyes, on the liver of Hyteropneustes fossilis, which produced frequently basophila coupled with other changes, associated with the initiation of the process of carcinogenesis in the organ (Upadhyay, 1993, 1995).
