IN VITRO MULTIPLICATION OF BACOPA MONNIERI AND CENTELLA ASIATICA

Abstract
Nodal, and leaf explants of Bacopa monnieri and Centella asiatica, species were Cultured in Murashig and Skoog's medium supplemented with different concentrations of Auxins and Kinetins. MS medium with 3.0 mg/I BAP and 0.5 mg/I IAA support the formation of shootlets and rootlets of Bacopa monnieriwhile 2.5 mg/I BAP, 0.5 mg/I NAA and 0.1 mg/I IBA shows formation of shootlets and rootlets in Centella asiatica. Ongoing culture studies will help in conservation of these valuable medicinal plants.
