Abstract

In the present report the chromosome numbers of two species of moths namely Hippotion echeclus (Boised) and Creatonotus gangis (Linnaeus), belonging to families Sphingidae and Arctidae respectively have been presented. The diploid number is 54 in Hippotion echeclus and 56 in Creatonotus gangis. Since only male specimens gave results sex chromosomes count not be identified
