Abstract

Thirty four genotypes of Sorghum were evaluated for Germination Stress Index (GSI) under Polyethylene glycol induced moisture stress (-5 MPA). The results revealed that 14 genotypes were tolerant, while 7 were moderately tolerant and the remaining genotypes were sensitive to moisture stress. The GSI recorded moderate genotypic and phenotypic coefficient of variation with heritability of 86.04% and genetic gain of 37.58%.
