Abstract
Not much has been known after the classical studies of La Motte (1933, 1937) on developmental studies of microgametophyte and megagametophytes in Isoetes L. While studying the genus Isoetes (Goswami 1975, 1993). We have had made repeated observadins on gametogenesis and embryogenesis in two Species of Isoetes.
This communication presents many rew observations and also opines that from developmental genetics point of view, Isoetes resembles Selaginella more closely than often thought of.
