Abstract
Description is given of development of apical meristem, nodal anatomy and epidermal structures of Equisetum ranosissimum collected from Rajasthan. Apical cell is distinct and divides by three oblique walls forming an apical dome ; in the basal portion of it 12-13 alternating patches of meristematic cells are present in two rings which cut off tissues successively at the nodes. Nodal bundles are well developed and have alternating leaf traces. Stomata are sunken, syndetocheilic and subsidiary cells have silica bars.
