Abstract
Scanning electron microphotograph of an anterior end of the egg of Aedes (Stegomyia) aegypti revealed distinct micropylar apparatus. It was clearly denoted by a centrally located well guarded opening for entry of sperm in the process of cross-fertilization. It is envisioned that the egg morphology may prove to be an added tool for sibling species identification.
