Abstract

The study focuses more sharply on dealing with successful talent management in the view of the fourth industrial revolution, leading to better organization performance. A significant number of manufacturing companies in Iran plan to embrace and introduce smart technology underlining the need to investigate the consequences of this phenomenon from the theoretical and practical perspective of talent management. As current literature lacks a proper mediating variable to measure the impact of talent management on organization performance in the context of the current technological revolution, this study proposes Industry 4.0 as a new mediating variable in the integrated framework. A quantitative analysis will be employed to test the relationship among the variables to explore the impact experienced across each stage of the talent management, including talent attraction, learning and development, talent retention, and career management with the mediating variable of Industry 4.0, which will direct to organization performance. Simple Random Sampling will be used for data collection from manufacturing organizations in Iran. The technological disruption initiated by Industry 4.0 involves a substantial divergence between the existing competence of the workforce and the increasingly growing necessities of their jobs, forcing the needs to investigate the innovative and flexible techniques of talent management. The study is intended to reveal the impact of various dimensions of talent management on Industry 4.0, which will broaden the concept of talent management and organization performance. This study demonstrates the prerequisite to adapt talent management theory and practice into a complex, system-thinking approach that acknowledges the interconnected essence of the multiple talent management practices. This study offers a detailed glimpse into the effect of the disruptive transformation introduced by Industry 4.0 on current talent management procedures in developing theory and practice to enhance the growth rate for employees and organizations.
