Abstract

The erratic nature of the rainfall pattern of Marathawada, for rain amount prediction use is made of four methods which are (a) the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) method, (b) the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) method, (c) the Time Series method, and (d) the Root Mean Square (RMS) method.  The predicted value is taken as the average of four values obtained by these different methods.

For this year the rain amount is going to be slightly less than the average of the  past 32 years rain history.

Keywords: Monsoon rain prediction, annual rainfall, flood control, hydro-power generation, weather forecasting, effect of rainfall
