Shad received her Ph.D. from NIRRH, Mumbai (India) for her work on understanding the role of genetic and hormonal factors in male infertility. After which, she joined Kent Hamra’s lab for her postdoctoral studies on spermatogonial stem cells and identified a novel marker for a single spermatogonia. Currently, she is a Senior Research Associate in Dr. Jain’s lab and doing exciting research on hormonal influences on airway diseases. She is well versed in a variety of in vivo and in vitro assays used to elucidate the role of estrogen and progesterone on airway diseases, particularly cystic fibrosis. When she is not in the lab, she loves to cook, read, paint, and shop
